Demolition jobs we have taken on
Three of the jobs Tanner wrote up for us, in short.
An office inside a warehouse
An office built inside an aluminum warehouse, a job the customer struggled to find anyone to take on. We took it down in three days. The warehouse job in full.
An RV nobody could move
An RV with its wheels, hubs and extension seized, on a property no 18-wheeler or flatbed could get into. The customer had called around 15 companies; we demolished it where it sat and stayed within budget. The full RV story.
A condemned double-wide
A condemned double-wide in Round Rock, demolished in two days with more than 200 cubic yards of waste hauled away. How the Round Rock job went.
All four project accounts are on our demolition projects page.
How we approach demolition
What matters to us on a demolition job is good work at a fair price.
No markup for a hard job
Demolition is expensive enough already. We don't pile on unnecessary costs or mark a job up because it is difficult.
Safety first
The work is done properly, with our crew, the customer and the surrounding property protected.
What you are keeping
You are trusting us with your property. Whatever is coming down, we work not to damage the things you want to keep.
Jobs that look complicated
We take on difficult projects, work out how to approach them, and leave the problem taken care of.
What to settle before a demolition date
Two questions come before the work, and the city and the state answer them: whether a permit is needed, and whether the building needs an asbestos survey first. The guide to demolition permits in Central Texas sets out the published rules of the cities it covers, with their sources and the dates they were read, and explains how the Texas asbestos rule turns on the kind of building.
Permits, utility disconnection and any required inspections are the property owner's responsibility, and asbestos abatement is separate work that we do not do. Once the site is ready, we take the structure down, haul it off and clear the ground.
Demolition questions, before you call
What kinds of demolition do you take on?
Interior strip-outs, residential or commercial. Yard structures: sheds, decks, fences, garages, carports, playsets, hot tubs, chicken coops. Whole structures: houses, farmhouses, barns, mobile homes, RVs. Pools, concrete, land clearing. One demolition-related job we do not do is asbestos abatement.
Is the haul-off a separate charge from the demolition?
No. Taking the structure down and carrying the debris away are the same job and the same quote.
How is a demolition job quoted?
We look at it on site, for free and with no obligation, and give you one price. The price we quote is the price you pay for everything quoted. Shed demolition and hot tub removal have published prices, from $999 and at $100 per seat; everything else depends on what we see. Published market figures, where any hold up, are in what demolition costs in Austin.
Who finds out whether the city needs a permit?
The property owner, through the city where the property sits. Published rules differ from one city to the next. They are collected, with sources and read dates, in demolition permits in Central Texas.
What if the building might contain asbestos?
Tell us when you ask for a quote. Whether Texas requires a survey before demolition depends on what kind of building it is, which the guide's asbestos section explains with its sources. Abatement, where it is needed, is done by a separate licensed specialist before our work starts.
Will you clear up after a demolition someone else did?
Yes. Debris from a contractor's demolition or your own is a debris haul-off job, and it is quoted by volume like any other load. That includes concrete someone else has already broken up.
Will you look at a job other companies turned down?
Yes. Both RVs in our demolition projects came to us after other companies passed on them: around 15 for one, five for the other.
